Alan is a character from Capcom's Street Fighter series of fighting games.

Story

Known as "The Southern Comet", Alan is a cheerful kendoka who fights to musical rhythm. Eventually, he becomes a music star, though he still has time to enter the second Premier Cup to find some new rhythm for his songs.

Appearance

Alan's cheerfulness has him smiling constantly and he has a thumbs-up gesture. He wears an orange hakama with yellowish-white lettering that reads "MAXIMUM" and orange kote. His hairstyle is a braided mohawk with a letter "M" on each side of his head which stands for "MAXIMUM." Alan is also seen in the anime movie and some art to be wearing a Caribbean chain necklace.

Trivia

Alan is the only character in the series to be designed by Capcom USA. He was designed by James Goddard, who modeled Alan after martial arts film stars Eddie Murphy and Mr T. Alan has a parrot named Doritos. The lettering on Alan's pants was originally supposed to read "MANTIS", but was changed to "MAXIMUM" when the graphic designers realized that the "N" and "S" would be reversed whenever he faced the other way. In the Street Fighter movie, he is portrayed by Miguel A. Núñez, Jr. In the movie, he is a member of Shadoloo. It has been recently revealed in the PSP version of Street Fighter Alpha 3 that he is close friends with Fei Long. According to Street Fighter canon, all the participants in the second World Warrior Tournament (Street Fighter II) were personally invited by Bison himself as to get revenge on the enemies of Shadoloo. The only exception to this was Alan. In Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie, Alan has a short appearance, and appears to be on friendly terms with Guile and Chun-Li and is considered by Bison to be worthy enough to gather data on. Alan is the only Caribbean fighter in kendo. Alan is another regular visitor to UCL, is 3rd dan, and constantly tells Gibbo that his "time is up". Alan has an unnatural affinity with munchies food, and if you listen carefully you can pick up the name of his favourite in his kiai. Alan can lift 8 times his own body weight, which is 4 tonnes.
