Gradings are a natural part of kendo, and the perfect oppourtunity to put your kendo to the test and find out how good it actually is, in the wider scale of things. They are also an occaision filled with tense nervous people, last minute kata practise, lots of people saying "what the hell is he here for?!" and other such niceties. That in mind, I have decided that I would put down a quick guide on what you should look out for in general, what gradings consist of, and a few examples of written test answers.
